Local, local, local! The Smithy was begun in 2007 with a mission to provide a prominent outlet for locally-grown & locally made products, from vegetables to condiments to spun wool. Every year its eclectic catalogue of fascinating local, hand-made items seems to double, and changes throughout the growing season. If you think you know what they have...well it's time to visit again.
The Smithy is located at the site of an 18th century blacksmith shop that remained in operation until WWII. Painstakingly renovated and magnificently appointed, the building alone is worth a visit. Owner Heather Holmes has transformed the upstairs into a powerhouse art gallery showcasing local artists of the highest caliber.
